Local Police in Whitchurch Organise Activities for Youngsters
Football, skating and a "treasure dig" are among activities being organised by local police for youngsters in the Whitchurch area.
The activities are being lined-up for the school summer holidays as part of the ongoing police policy of engaging with young people. It also coincides with West Mercia Police Respect Week which runs from July 26.
Sergeant Kirsty Hill, of the Whitchurch Local Policing Team, said the policy of engaging with youngsters had succeeded in reducing incidents of anti-social behaviour in many areas.
Madeley folk given PACT reminder
People living in and around the town of Madeley are being reminded by their Local Policing Team (LPT) about the dates and times of the next PACT events that are held in the town.
PACT (Partners and Communities Together) stages many events right across Telford & Wrekin Borough to give people the chance to discuss community issues with the various represented organisations.
Have you got your PASS?
Telford & Wrekin Council Trading Standards have been accredited by the National Proof of Age Standards Scheme supported by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI), to administer a Telford & Wrekin Proof of Age Scheme (PASS).
The Proof of Age Scheme aims to reduce the illegal sale of alcohol, solvents, knives, cigarettes or fireworks to young people. The PASS card is an ID card showing a colour photograph of an individual with their date of birth and on what dates they will turn 16 and 18, if applicable. These cards can be produced on request from retailers.
Renewed Appeal for Witnesses over Missing Shrewsbury Teenager
Detectives leading the search for a Shrewsbury teenager who has not been seen or heard from in over a month today renewed an appeal for information.
Officers continue to actively investigate the disappearance of Hayden Reynolds-Evans, 18, who was last seen when he left The Albion Vaults pub in the town centre just after 10pm on Monday, 1st February.
A specialist team was brought in yesterday(MAR 9) to carry out a search of the River Severn using sonar equipment, the results of which are currently being analysed.
Madeley folk PACT reminder
Residents in and around Madeley are being reminded by their Local Policing eam (LPT) about the time and date of the next PACT meeting that is held in the ward.
PACT (Partners and Communities Together) stages many events throughout Telford & Wrekin to allow members of the public to discuss community issues with the various represented organisations.
Bogus phone calls
Police in Shropshire have warned people to be on their guard against telephone callers claiming to be selling security alarms on behalf of West Mercia Police.
The warning follows several reports where members of the public in the Whitchurch area have reported receiving such calls.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said today: “It would seem these are bogus calls and have nothing to do with the Force. We do not call people offering to sell merchandise.”
Renewed Appeal Over Missing Shrewsbury Teenager
Concern is growing for the welfare of a Shrewsbury man who has not been seen or heard from in three days.
Hayden Reynolds-Evans, 18, was last seen leaving through the rear door of The Albion Vaults pub in Castle Foregate, having got off a train at the Railway Station just after 10pm on Monday (FEB 1).
He was due to meet with some friends at The Bird In Hand pub in Coton Hill but never arrived and police are extremely concerned about his wellbeing.
Dog fouling warning from police
PC Mike Evans, Madeley’s Local Police Officer, has issued a warning to local dog owners who allow their pets to foul the footpath and playground on Upper Road and are not then clearing up the mess.
The warning comes after the South Telford Local Policing Team (LPT) received a number of complaints through PACT (Partners and Communities Together) from local residents who are worried about the health and environmental problems dog fouling can cause.
