More premises have been added to the Telford & Wrekin Scores on the Doors website, meaning you can be even more informed about where to eat in the borough.

The latest scores are all online at www.telford.gov.uk/scoresonthedoors with over half being awarded the top five or four stars.

PostHeaderIcon Telford's Fourth Annual Santa Fun Run

The Friends of Telford Town Park would like to invite you to take part in the fourth annual Santa Fun Run this December.

Run it, jog it, walk it, push a buggy to it! Everyone can take part. It's fun, festive and it's all for charity. Plus you get a free Santa suit!

The event on 12 December at 11am is in association with Telford & Wrekin Council. It will start at The Arena, Telford Town Park and is approximately two miles long.

Funds raised will be split equally between Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

PostHeaderIcon Weatherbird to croon at Park Live after winning radio vote

Families are encouraged to come to Park Live, the free festival organised by Telford & Wrekin Council, which takes place this Saturday (4th September) in Telford Town Park from 1pm. The winners of the Beacon Radio's Listeners Choice competition, Weatherbird, will open the music festival at 1.15pm.

Weatherbird won the Beacon Radio Listeners' Choice competition beating off three other local bands. Listeners had the chance to vote online for which of the four bands they liked the best.

Police in Wellington are again working with their local community to help ease traffic problems in an area of the town. At a number of recent PACT (Partners and Communities Together) Meetings, residents have raised concerns about parking issues along North Road and its side streets. Residents have once again told officials that illegal parking was especially prevalent at the beginning and end of the school day.

Paul Taylor enjoyed some luxurious five-star treatment from Shrewsbury Audi after winning a national magazine competition. Mr Taylor, from Welshampton, and his family were treated to ‘vroom with a view’ after they won an overnight stay in one of London’s most exclusive hotels and the use of one of the Battlefield Enterprise Park dealership’s flagship cars for the weekend.

Telford Police officers are appealing for information after a van was stolen in Madeley. The incident occurred on South Drive sometime between 8pm on Friday 13th August and 3am on Saturday 14th August.

Sometime overnight it appears that thieves stole a white Citroen panel van – VRM V264 KOJ – that was parked on the road outside a property on South Drive and then made off in it.

PostHeaderIcon Burglary in Madeley

Police officers are investigating a burglary that took place in Madeley. The incident occurred at a property in a residential complex off Park Street on Monday 16th August.

Sometime between 7.30pm and 11.55pm it appearsthieves reached in through a small window and managed to turn a handle on another window and open it from the inside. They then climbed in through the open window, stepped onto the bed and made their way into the property.

PostHeaderIcon 21st Century fire station for town

Firefighters want the people of Cleobury Mortimer (population 2,500) to come and visit the town's new look fire station which has just been refurbished.

A special ceremony to formally re-dedicate the station takes place on Saturday, September 11, from 10am to 1pm when the public is invited to attend.

Brigade chaplain Rev Peter Barnes will traditionally bless the new building and Councillor Stuart West, chairman of Shropshire and Wrekin Fire Authority, will unveil a plaque to commemorate the event.

PostHeaderIcon Witness Appeal to Whitchurch crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between two cars on a Whitchurch shop car park.

Officers were called to Home Bargains in Brownlow Street at about 1.30pm yesterday after a green Citroen ZX and a blue Citroen Saxo were in collision outside the store.

The driver of the ZX, a woman, suffered mild shock but did not require hospital treatment. The driver of the Saxo, a man, was not injured and details were exchanged.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact them on 0300 333 3000.
 

PostHeaderIcon Different doors at Wellington Leisure Centre

Due to the ongoing development works it will be necessary to close the main entrance to the Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre on Thursday and Friday of this week.

Dave Morgan, a council spokesman said: “The main entrance to the building will be closed on Thursday 18/08/10 and Friday 19/08/10. Alternative access is possible from the West car park through the Civic entrance and from the East car park through the entrance adjacent to Wellington Coffee Shop. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
