Telford Police officers are investigating after a lady’s bank cards were stolen from her car in Arleston yesterday morning. The incident occurred on the car park at Tesco supermarket on Wrekin Retail Park on Sunday 7th March.

At around noon, a lady was loading her shopping into her car when she was approached by an unknown woman. The woman asked the lady for directions and stated that she was travelling from Liverpool to Corby.

In the latest update nearly 40 premises received three stars or more. Premises need over two stars to comply with the law.

PostHeaderIcon Free family celebration of St Georges Day

The St George’s Day celebration event is returning to Southwater Square in Telford next month and is shaping up to be bigger and bolder than last year with a chance to meet St George himself.

The event on Saturday, April 24, from 11am to 4pm will be themed around all things medieval and traditionally English with Morris Dancing, brass bands, dance and musical performances, falconry, themed arts and crafts and storytelling.

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident on the M54 that continued into Wellington. The incident occurred on Wednesday 3rd March.

Sometime between 10.20am and 11am the drivers of two vehicles reportedly became involved in a dispute as they travelled eastbound from the Preston Island towards Telford.

PostHeaderIcon Postal votes issued for Parish Council by-elections

Just over 5,000 postal votes have now been issued to postal voters in three parish wards who go to the polls next Thursday (March 11).

By elections are being held for the Hadley and Leegomery Ward of Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, the Central Ward of Lawley & Overdale Parish Council and the Oakengates Ward of Oakengates Town Council.

Telford and Wrekin has the fifth highest number of postal voters in the country, with one in three of borough electors voting by post.

PostHeaderIcon Makeover for Ironbridge continues

Work is now underway on major repairs to the surface of the Wharfage car park in Ironbridge as part of a makeover of the area in time for the new tourist season.

To date £15,000 has already been invested in a major declutter and refurbishment of the historic town which has seen redundant poles and signposts removed and street lights replaced.

PostHeaderIcon Borough prepares for by-elections for Parish Council seats

On Thursday (March 11) voters in three parish wards go to the polls to decide who will represent them on their parish councils.

By-elections are being held for the Hadley and Leegomery Ward of Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, Central Ward Lawley & Overdale Parish Council and Oakengates Ward of Oakengates Town Council.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday for those wanting to cast their votes in person.

Residents living in the Malinslee Local Policing area are being invited to attend a PACT Meeting that is being held in the ward. PACT (Partners and Communities Together) will be staging the meeting in a bid to allow members of the public to discuss community issues with the various represented organisations. The meeting will take place at Old Park School on Brunel Road on Monday 1st March.

PostHeaderIcon Crash in Arleston

Wellington Police are appealing for further witnesses following a RTC in Arleston. The incident occurred close to the McDonalds on the Wrekin Retail Park on Friday 12th February.

At around 7.50pm a sliver Peugeot 206 was in collision with another vehicle as it was being driven on to the Retail Park. The collision saw the Peugeot hit from behind by the other vehicle – which was possibly a green Citroen Saxo – causing it to leave the road.

PostHeaderIcon Distraction theft attempt thwarted

Police in Telford are investigating an attempted theft from a vehicle in a car park in Arleston, Wellington, on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred on the car park at the Tesco supermarket on the Wrekin Retail Park on Saturday 23rd January.

At around 2.30pm as the victim – a 61-year-old lady – sat in her car having been shopping, she was approached by an unknown woman.

The victim describes the woman as being aged in her late 30s, as being Asian in appearance, of medium build and as having dark hair.
