PostHeaderIcon Distraction theft at Wrekin Retail Park

Telford Police officers are investigating after a lady’s bank cards were stolen from her car in Arleston yesterday morning. The incident occurred on the car park at Tesco supermarket on Wrekin Retail Park on Sunday 7th March.

At around noon, a lady was loading her shopping into her car when she was approached by an unknown woman. The woman asked the lady for directions and stated that she was travelling from Liverpool to Corby.

Police officers in Telford are appealing for witnesses following disorder in Ketley Bank that left a 25-year-old woman with minor puncture wounds to her right leg. The incident occurred outside an address on Fifth Avenue on Sunday 7th March.

Sometime between 5.30pm and 6.30pm it appears an altercation took place that involved a number of people, many of whom appeared to know each other. It seems the altercation was sparked by an argument that took place earlier in the day in the Hare and Hounds public house in Oakengates.

Detective Inspector Pete Brophy, head of the Specialist Operations Department at Malinsgate Police Station, has expressed his satisfaction at seeing two juveniles given custodial sentences this week for burglaries they recently carried out in Telford.

PC John Walters, Local Police Officer for Wrockwardine Wood and Trench, has confirmed that preparations are now almost complete for a community basketball match he has organised.

The match, which will see a police and local authority team take on a team of young people from the local community, is taking place at Oakengates Leisure Centre on Monday 8th March with ‘tip-off’ being at 6pm.

Police officers are investigating following a theft in Stirchley. The incident occurred at an address on Bonningdale Close sometime between 3pm on Monday 1st March and 8am on Tuesday 2nd March.

Sometime during the time period in question it appears that thieves entered the rear garden at the property and stole a bicycle from inside.

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident on the M54 that continued into Wellington. The incident occurred on Wednesday 3rd March.

Sometime between 10.20am and 11am the drivers of two vehicles reportedly became involved in a dispute as they travelled eastbound from the Preston Island towards Telford.

PostHeaderIcon Factory Burgled, Alveley

Police in Bridgnorth are appealing for information after a factory was broken into and metal fixings stolen on a village industrial estate. The premises on Alveley Industrial Estate was burgled between about 7pm on Friday (FEB 26) and 9.45am on Sunday (FEB 28).

A large number of pallets containing metal ingots was stolen, along with a yellow Karcher pressure washer and a Stomp off-road motorbike.

The offender or offenders would have needed a relatively large vehicle or a car with a trailer to have transported the items away.

Work is now underway on major repairs to the surface of the Wharfage car park in Ironbridge as part of a makeover of the area in time for the new tourist season.

To date £15,000 has already been invested in a major declutter and refurbishment of the historic town which has seen redundant poles and signposts removed and street lights replaced.

PostHeaderIcon Purse theft appeal

Police in Telford are appealing for help from the public as they attempt to identify a potentially vital witness to a purse theft in Telford town centre earlier this year. The incident took place in the Asda supermarket on The Border, Telford Centre, on Monday 18th January.

At around 1.50pm, the victim – a 58-year-old lady – was making her way down an aisle when she put her plastic shopping bag down to look at some items on a display. When she finished looking she moved on without picking up the bag.
