Food delivery man attacked in Wellington

Wellington Police officers are appealing for information following an assault in the town. The incident occurred on Pooler Close on Friday 5th February.

Sometime between 8.30pm and 9pm, as the victim, a 31-year-old man, delivered food to an address on Pooler Close, he was approached by two unknown men who grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed against a wall.

Robbery  in Wellington

Police in Telford are appealing for information following a robbery in Wellington. The incident occurred close to the new bus station on Victoria Avenue on Sunday 17th January.

At around 3.20am, as the victim – a 19-year-old man – made his way home, he was approached by a group containing around 5 unknown men. Without warning the victim was punched a number of times before falling to the floor.

Police in Telford are investigating a robbery in Wellington. The incident occurred on a footpath close to Whitchurch Drive on Thursday 14th January.

At around 2pm, as the victim – a 17-year-old man – walked along the footpath that runs off Whitchurch Drive towards Wrekin College, he was approached by two unknown men.

The men blocked his path and demanded that he ‘empty his pockets’. Feeling threatened the victim handed over his wallet – containing around £40, his black Nokia 5800 mobile phone and a black Nintendo DS Lite games console.

PostHeaderIcon Bridgnorth Attempted Robbery – Witness Appeal

Police are hunting two men who entered a Shropshire newsagents today, Friday 15th January, threatening staff and demanding money.

The incident happened at the newsagents’ shop in Princess Drive, Bridgnorth, shortly after 6.30am.

A young woman member of staff was struck on the back of her head. She received minor bruising to her neck and was treated by paramedics.

The two men ran off empty-handed moments after the assault when confronted by a male member of staff.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Edwards from the West Mercia Police Telford Command Team is advising people who received lots of lovely presents at Christmas to make sure they do not become an easy target for burglars.

New gifts such as electrical items should be security marked and the empty boxes should not be left on view outside to let burglars know the type of items you have in your home.

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision (RTC) at a retail park close to the town centre. The incident occurred in the car park at Sainsbury’s supermarket on Telford Forge Retail Park on Friday 18th December.

Telford Police are investigating an attempted robbery that took place in Trench. It occurred in Gibbons Road on Thursday 5th November. At around 10.40pm, as an elderly married couple were walking along the street, an unknown man approached them from the direction of Wade Road and attempted to steal the handbag the 70-year-old lady was carrying.

Telford CID officers are investigating a robbery in Oakengates. The incident occurred at Minnesota Fats’ snooker/pool club off Canongate on Sunday 8th November.

Just after 11pm, as two male members of staff started to lock up the premises, one of them became aware of a figure in the foyer at the club. He looked through a small window in an internal door and saw three men on the other side of the door wearing balaclavas. The men saw him looking through the window and pushed the door open to enter the premises.

PostHeaderIcon Police express satisfaction at robbery sentence

Detective Inspector Steve Tonks from West Mercia Police has expressed his satisfaction having late yesterday seen five men – Brian Moran (aged 24), Colin Farrell (27), Paul Fielding (aged 26), David Dargan (aged 24) and Gregory Burke (aged 25) – given significant custodial sentences at Wolverhampton Crown Court for their part in a robbery that took place in Dawley in September 2008.

The robbery itself occurred at the Lloyds TSB Bank on the High Street at just after 9.15am on Friday 5th September as staff refilled the cashpoint at the branch.
