This summer holiday the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford has created a range of activities running from 1-31 August, that will get families working together and having fun. Each week throughout the school holiday will have an exciting activity dedicated to it; plus a drawing competition running at weekends and Bank Holiday Monday, where participants stand a chance of winning a £15 voucher to spend in the Royal Air Force Museum Shop.

The British Gliding Association plus Wrekin and Staffordshire Gliding Clubs will be putting on a glider weekend for visitors at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July 2010.

Wrekin and Staffordshire Gliding Clubs are offering visitors the chance to buy trial flights for a discounted price of only £60 per person. This includes a 20 minute flight up to 2000ft in a two seater glider with a qualified instructor. These unique trial flights will be available from 10.00am to 5.00pm both days to visitors over the age of 14 (weather permitting).

PostHeaderIcon Police Appeal for Witnesses to Broseley Road Collision

Police are seeking witnesses to a road collision in which a man was seriously injured while walking in Broseley.

The 33-year-old was in collision with a silver Peugeot at the Brandywell Road junction with Cockshutt Lane, at around 3.30am yesterday (Sunday).

He was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford with serious head, back and leg injuries and later transferred to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham where his condition is described as "stable."

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford was last night crowned Winners of the ‘Small Employer of the Year Award 2010’ at The National Apprenticeship Awards 2010, an Oscar style awards ceremony in London.

Currently five apprentices are employed in the Museum’s Michael Beetham Conservation Centre. MBCC Manager Mr Tim Wallis and Training Manager, Mick Shepherd, were presented the award by Mr Peter Butler of BT, who sponsored the Small Employer of the Year category.

This famous air show in miniature is an absolute must see for any aviation enthusiast, attracting in excess of 10,000 visitors during the two-day event.

PostHeaderIcon Peregrine Falcon Enquiry Update

A police inquiry into the poisoning of two peregrine falcons in a disused quarry at Clee Hill has come to an end.

Officers carried out an extensive investigation in conjunction with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and Natural England following the incident, which was reported to police on 6th May.

A number of people were spoken to by police in connection with the incident and one man was interviewed voluntarily. No further action is to be taken against him.

New memorial is first to recognise sacrifice of Spiritualists

A service on 10th July 2010 will mark the dedication of Spiritualists' first ever memorial to members that have served in the UK Armed Forces. The imposing memorial, which features a tall granite obelisk, will be unveiled at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Telford police officers have launched an investigation inot an assault that occurred in Oakengates. It happened in Stafford Road on Sunday 27th June.

At sometime between 10.20am and 10.40am, as the victim, a 19-year-old man, walked home from Oakengates railway station, he made his way past a group of youths who were standing at the bus station.

PostHeaderIcon Police ask for help to trace missing man

Herefordshire police are appealing for the public's help to find missing man Lee Malin, aged 23, who has not been seen since Tuesday 22 June.

Mr Malin, who has never gone missing before, was at work in Foy near Ross on Wye and was travelling between sites on Tuesday. He never arrived for a 1.30pm meeting.
