Police in Telford are investigating after the body of a man was found at a landfill site in Redhill, near Telford.

The body was found at the site on Grange Lane near Granville Country Park at just before 11.30am on Friday 2nd July.

A significant number of officers are investigating the discovery and three people (a man and two women) are currently under arrest. The police are not thought to be looking for anyone else in relation to the case At this time.

Police officers have identified the victim as Mr Stephen Round (43) a father of three children who lived in St Georges, Telford. A post mortem established that Mr Round died as a result of head and neck injuries. At least 50 detectives and other police officers are involved in the investigation.

Several wheelie bins were seized in the St Georges area for forensic investigation. A resident told Wellington News: “We thought it might be a murder when police officers suddenly turned up in St Georges, looking at wheelie bins.”
