Burglary in Dawley
Police officers are investigating following a burglary in Dawley. The incident occurred at an address on Beames Close sometime between 11.30pm on Wednesday 27th January and 6.45am on Thursday 28th January.
Sometime overnight it appears that thieves broke into the property by forcing open a kitchen window to the rear of the house.
Once inside the kitchen it appears that the thieves stole a laptop computer, a Sony Ericsson mobile phone, around £50 in cash and a set of keys to a Jaguar X-Type car before then leaving the property.
The thieves then used the car keys to steal the Jaguar – registration number KM05 URV - off the drive before making their escape in the vehicle.
A police spokesman said: “This is quite an unusual burglary as the thieves made their escape in a vehicle owned by the victims from the burglary. They are understandably very upset by the incident.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about the burglary itself, or anyone who may know where the stolen property can currently be located.
“Anyone who believes they may have information about this burglary is asked to contact police in Telford on 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have information you’d like to pass on without identifying yourself.”
