Dress shop Brides By Appointment, in New Street, Wellington, Telford, is holding a raffle to raise money for Barnardo's.

The shop, which is run by Barnardo's and sells new bridal wear donated direct from designers and suppliers, is raising money for local children. The raffle runs from Saturday, 24 July, till Friday, 30 July. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the shop itself at £1 per ticket or £3 per strip of five tickets.

Shop sales assistant Lucy Latham said: "It's going to be a great event to raise money to support vulnerable children and young people in the area. Money raised by our stores goes direct to helping children but now and then we like to do something extra to boost that funding.

"The raffle is going to contain different themed prizes from different donors; Joe Jord Photography, Kerry's Luxury Truffles, Poppies Floral Design, Jackie Ann Bespoke Tiaras and Forever Flowers by Tina. I would like to say a big thank you to the generous donations that we have received.

Money will go towards the Barnardo's run Shropshire Project. It provides two services; short breaks for disabled children and their families and a family support service which is confidential support for secondary school age youngsters. They can talk to Barnardo's workers about anything that's worrying them such as family problems, relationship worries, sexual health, pregnancy, drugs and bullying.
