Following the story of Maria, a young woman whose husband has recently died, 'Welcome' is a touching portrayal of grief and a darkly comic drama.

Genuinely moving moments are interspersed with a bold lack of sentimentality as the play shows Maria's reluctant examination of her role as both a woman and a widow. When the play begins Maria is fleeing away on holiday to escape the scrutiny of her friends and family. Despite the distance she tries to put between herself and her emotions, as the story progresses she is unable to avoid addressing her feelings towards her late husband.

The play features writer Lucy Corbett as Maria alongside Ben Goh and Holly Jarrett. First performed in Wellington, Shropshire in 2008 to great acclaim, 'Welcome' marks the fringe debut of My Little Theatre Company.

"I was extremely impressed. It is so encouraging to see such talent in a young theatre company." (Shropshire Star, November 2008)
