Pools of woe for luckless thieves
'Luckless' thieves might have thought they were in the money when they stole ten swimming pools, recently. But West Mercia Police have revealed that all ten of them were faulty. Officers have issued an appeal for information after the thieves stole the faulty swimming pools from a shed in Stirchley, Telford. Thieves broke into the shed at an address in Cooke Drive last night, January 29, at around 5.40pm. Two males forced their way into the shed and stole 10 swimming pools.
Police were mobilised to the scene after a witness saw what was happening, but the pair had fled before the police arrived. Officers are currenlty investigating the incident.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "Thieves stole a total of ten swimming pools from the shed. However, the thieves wouldn’t have known that the swimming pools were rejects from a catalogue and are therefore all faulty.
"We believe the thieves may try and sell the swimming pools and we are asking people to be alert and to call us if they are offered such an item for sale. "All of the products have holes in and are therefore quite distinctive."
