Concern is growing for the welfare of a Shrewsbury man who has not been seen or heard from in three days.

Hayden Reynolds-Evans, 18, was last seen leaving through the rear door of The Albion Vaults pub in Castle Foregate, having got off a train at the Railway Station just after 10pm on Monday (FEB 1).

He was due to meet with some friends at The Bird In Hand pub in Coton Hill but never arrived and police are extremely concerned about his wellbeing.

Extensive searches have been carried out in the area Mr Reynolds-Evans was last seen, using officers on foot, police dogs and the force helicopter.

The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) has also been contacted by police to assist and carried out searches along the River Severn today (FEB 4).

Constable Phil Neale, who is co-ordinating the search for Mr Reynolds-Evans, urged anyone who might have seen anybody matching his description in the area at the time to contact police immediately on 0300 333 3000.

He is described as white, about 6ft 2in tall with a slim build and fair skin. He has short, ‘dirty’ blonde coloured hair, blue eyes and slight stubble. He was wearing a grey and white, horizontal striped jumper, jeans and black Airwalk trainers.

“He may have appeared unsteady on his feet and possibly even ill when he left the Albion Vaults, having just returned from a trip to Liverpool with some friends,” Constable Neale said.

“Those friends were due to meet him at The Bird In Hand but Hayden never arrived and has not been seen since he left through the rear door of the Albion shortly after about 10.05pm on Monday.

“I would urge anybody who might have seen someone matching his description in the Chester Street or Coton Hill area during that time to please call police on 0300 333 3000 as a matter of urgency.

“It is also possible that he may have headed back under the railway bridge towards Castle Gates and Howard Street so if anybody saw him there and I am also keen to hear from them.”

Constable Neale also urged anybody who might have found Mr Reynolds-Evans mobile phone in the area to get in touch.

“It is a black, basic-model Nokia phone that had a cracked screen,” he added.

“It is possible that somebody may have picked this up, not realising its significance to our investigation, and I would ask anyone who has done so or who may find it in the future to contact police immediately.

“Hayden’s family is incredibly worried about him as it is completely out of character for him to have disappeared like this and not been in contact.

“If Hayden himself reads or hears this appeal, I would also ask him to contact police straight away and let us know he is alright.”

CCTV from the town is also being examined by officers in addition to other enquiries and the ongoing search.

Police can be contacted on 0300 333 3000.
