Robbery in Wellington
Police in Telford are investigating a robbery in Wellington. The incident occurred on a footpath close to Whitchurch Drive on Thursday 14th January.
At around 2pm, as the victim – a 17-year-old man – walked along the footpath that runs off Whitchurch Drive towards Wrekin College, he was approached by two unknown men.
The men blocked his path and demanded that he ‘empty his pockets’. Feeling threatened the victim handed over his wallet – containing around £40, his black Nokia 5800 mobile phone and a black Nintendo DS Lite games console.
Once they had been handed the items the two men pushed passed the victim and then ran off by turning right in the opposite direction to the hospital. Both men are described as being Asian and aged between 15 and 18.
The first man is also described as being around 6ft tall, with a stocky build and as wearing a black hooded top and dark jeans. The second man is described as being between 5ft 5 and 5ft 8inches tall, of ‘chubby’ build and as wearing a black hooded top with ‘Umbro’ printed on it.
