Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oakengates. The incident occurred close to Stafford Road on Thursday 11th March.
At just before 10pm, as the victim – a 30-year-old man – walked along a footpath towards the mini roundabout by Oakengates Theatre, he was approached by two unknown men. Without warning, the men grabbed the victim and pushed him off the footpath into a more secluded spot.
The men then threatened the victim and demanded that he hand over his belongings.
A police spokesman said: “The victim had only his old Nokia mobile phone on him and handed this over to the two men. When he then stated he had nothing else to give them the two men made off and ran from the scene towards the centre of Oakengates.
“The victim has been able to give us descriptions of the two men that robbed him. The first man is described as being white, around 6ft tall, aged in his late teens or early 20s and as having stubble on his face. He is also described as wearing a white baseball cap and a dark blue or black zipped jacket.
“The second man is described as being white, around 5ft 8inches tall, of stocky build and as wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up, white tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
“Anyone who has information about this incident, or who may recognise either of the two suspects involved, is asked to contact the police on 0300 333 3000.
“Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have information you’d like to pass on without identifying yourself.”
