In a bid to help passengers plan their journeys over the festive season, Wrexham & Shropshire today announces details of the train services that it will be running over Christmas and the New Year.  Apart from Christmas and Boxing Day, a comprehensive timetable will be in operation right through to the New Year 2009.

This will benefit passengers with ongoing business commitments, those planning to visit family or friends, or people simply wanting to take advantage of their free time with a day out to one of the many attractions along the route.

For those travelling further afield during the festivities, Wrexham & Shropshire has several stops along the route that offer easy connections to other rail services serving mid and central Wales, the West Midlands, Oxford, Reading and beyond.  Wrexham & Shropshire's London terminus - Marylebone - also provides excellent transport links.

Richard Harper, Commercial Manager at Wrexham & Shropshire, said:  "Our special timetable for the festive season aims to offer a spread of services throughout the day, benefiting both business and leisure travellers. We're sharing our timetable now and making our tickets available earlier than usual so that people can make plans and avoid a last minute rush.  This is a busy time of year for rail travel, so I would urge people to book their seat early to avoid disappointment."

Tickets are available on Wrexham & Shropshire's website - www.wrexhamandshropshire.co.uk - and travellers can take advantage of an innovative 'tckts2txt' option when buying online.  Tickets are also available by calling 0845 260 5900 or passengers can simply buy tickets on board.
