PostHeaderIcon Anniversary Checks One Week on from Shifnal RTC

Police are to carry out anniversary checks one week on from a serious road collision on the outskirts of Shifnal. Officers have also renewed an appeal for witnesses to the incident.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, remains in hospital in critical but stable condition following the crash, which happened in Haughton Road just after 4pm on Saturday (MAR 6).
A red Volkswagen Golf was in collision with the roadside verge and a tree stump, suffering extensive damage and seriously injuring two of the occupants. A third man suffered minor injuries.

PostHeaderIcon Six foot man in Oakengates street robbery

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oakengates. The incident occurred close to Stafford Road on Thursday 11th March.
At just before 10pm, as the victim – a 30-year-old man – walked along a footpath towards the mini roundabout by Oakengates Theatre, he was approached by two unknown men. Without warning, the men grabbed the victim and pushed him off the footpath into a more secluded spot.
The men then threatened the victim and demanded that he hand over his belongings.

The results have been declared in by election for two parish council seats and one town council seat on three different authorities in the borough of Telford and Wrekin.
By elections were held on Thursday (MAR 11) for the Hadley and Leegomery Ward of Hadley and Leegomery Parish Council, the Central Ward of Lawley & Overdale Parish Council and the Oakengates Ward of Oakengates Town Council.

The Donnington Partnership – a multi-agency group set up in the ward to work with local people to tackle quality of life issues – have confirmed that they will be holding the first in a series of newly launched public ‘workshop sessions’ on Monday 15th March.
The sessions are being launched in an attempt to engage with more local residents via a new forum and give them the opportunity to share their concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour with the organisations that can help to address them.

West Mercia Police is appealing for information on the whereabouts of a wanted man. James ‘Jimmy’ Stevens is wanted for a breach of his licence conditions, one of which is for him to reside in Worcester.

Detective inspector Jim Fox, of South Worcestershire Police, said: “James Stevens is wanted by police and we would ask anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact us urgently. He could be in the Worcester area but has strong connections with Telford.

PostHeaderIcon Six men charged in human trafficking investigation

Detective Superintendent Steve Cullen has confirmed that six men will this morning be appearing at Telford Magistrates Court charged with a number of human trafficking offences.

The charges have been brought as part of an ongoing, long-term operation into human trafficking and sexual offences that is being conducted in conjunction with a number of partner agencies.

Detective Superintendent Cullen, who is leading this investigation, said:
