Police Success Tackling Problems on Whitchurch Play Park
Complaints about anti-social behaviour on a Whitchurch play park have significantly reduced following a targeted operation by police.
Between the beginning of May and the end of July, on average between two and four calls per weekend were being made to police, complaining about youths drinking alcohol, intimidating residents and causing damage and mess at night on Jubilee Park.
But since the operation began, this fell to just four reports for the entire month of August.
Flex Card holders benefit from Ironbridge museums discounts
Flex Card holders in Telford and Wrekin will continue to receive a hefty discount of 40 per cent off the price of an annual passport into the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
The offer is a joint initiative between Telford & Wrekin Council and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust which runs the ten museums.
The aim is to help encourage local residents and their families to spend more time visiting the historic local attractions and to make greater use of their facilities.

Sqn Ldr Tony Pickering, a Battle of Britain Hurricane Pilot will be the guest of honour at an event taking place at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford this weekend. Tony, aged 90, from Rugby will be talking to visitors alongside the Museums Hurricane in a Question and Answer session on Saturday 11th September at 12noon and 2pm.
Heritage celebrated at The Market Hall, Shrewsbury
The Market Hall, Shrewsbury is in its final stages of preparing for a week-long interactive exhibition. A whole host of activity has been set up in line with the town's Heritage Weekend on Friday, 10 and Saturday, 11 September.
Shropshire Licensees Urged to Join "Challenge 25" Scheme
The police Licensing Officer for Shropshire is urging licensees to adopt a national initiative to help them identify underage drinkers.
Mr Tony Mantle says licensees need to tighten up their checks or else risk being penalised, including possibly having their licence revoked.
His warning to publicans, nightclubs, restaurants, off-licences and other alcohol licence holders follows the shocking results of a test purchasing operation carried out by Shropshire Trading Standards supported by the police.

FREE Battle of Britain downloadable podcast Key Stage Level 2
The Royal Air Force Museum is delighted to announce that as part of its monthly podcast series they have created a Battle of Britain Podcast for children aimed at helping them to understand the most significant event in Royal Air Force History.
The podcast, aimed at Key Stage Level 2, gives an introduction to the Battle of Britain explaining how in 1940 Britain prepared for invasion by German forces and that her defence was to be the Royal Air Force’s finest hour. It covers the significant events that took place between June to September 1940 in easy to understand stages.
Calling Budding photographers!
Local rail company, Wrexham & Shropshire is calling on budding photographers of all ages to put their talents to the test, and win the chance to contribute photos to the company’s first ever charity calendar for 2011.
The lucky overall winner will not only have their photo displayed in the charity calendar, but also on the prized front cover. They will also win a pair of first class tickets for a trip to London. The remaining eleven winners whose photos are selected to feature in the calendar will also receive a classic Wrexham & Shropshire mug.
Wellington Police tackle parking problems
Police in Wellington are again working with their local community to help ease traffic problems in an area of the town. At a number of recent PACT (Partners and Communities Together) Meetings, residents have raised concerns about parking issues along North Road and its side streets. Residents have once again told officials that illegal parking was especially prevalent at the beginning and end of the school day.
Dakota Flypast over Cosford
The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain on 11 to 12 September, considered the most important event in Royal Air Force history, with a weekend of events and exhibitions for the whole family to enjoy including a flypast on both days from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota (weather permitting).
